Method 1: Using Adobe Acrobat Reader (Windows/Mac)

Step-by-Step:

  1. Download Adobe Acrobat Reader (if you don’t have it): Go to Adobe Reader
  2. Open your PDF file with Adobe Acrobat Reader.
  3. At the right sidebar or top menu, click on “Fill & Sign”.
  4. Click on “Sign” (icon looks like a pen).
  5. Click “Add Signature”.
  6. Choose how you want to sign:
    • Type: Type your name, choose a font style.
    • Draw: Use your mouse or touchpad to draw your signature.
    • Image: Upload a photo of your signature.
  7. Once your signature is ready, click “Apply.”
  8. Move your mouse to where you want the signature to go and click to place it.
  9. Drag to adjust size/position if needed.
  10. Click “File > Save” to keep the signed version.

Method 2: Using Preview on Mac

Step-by-Step:

  1. Open the PDF with the Preview app (default PDF viewer on Mac).
  2. Click the pen icon on the top toolbar (Markup toolbar).
  3. Click on the “Signature” icon (looks like a scribble).
  4. Click “Create Signature”:
    • Use your trackpad to draw your signature.
    • Use your camera to scan your handwritten signature on paper.
    • Or use your iPhone (if synced via iCloud).

    • Or reuse a saved signature.
  6. Tap “Done.”
  7. Tap the signature to insert it into the PDF.
  8. Move and resize it as needed.

Option 1: Disable "Reopen windows when logging back in"

When you shut down or restart your Mac, you’ll see this option:

  • Reopen windows when logging back in

Uncheck this box before clicking "Shut Down" or "Restart".

Option 2: Turn off App Resume in System Settings

  1. Open System Settings
  2. Click Desktop & Dock
  3. Scroll down to Windows & Apps
  4. Find and turn on:
    • “Close windows when quitting an application”

    (Note: Turning this ON prevents apps from resuming)

Option 3: Manage Login Items

  1. Go to System Settings
  2. Select General > Login Items
  3. Under Open at Login, remove apps you don’t want launching automatically

Option 4: Use Terminal to Stop Resume (Advanced)

If the above options don't help, use Terminal commands:
